Antoine de Saint-Exupery was born in June 29, 1900. He was a French writer, poet and aviator. He is best known for his written works most notably the influential novella “The Little Prince”. He passed July 31, 1944. Here is our cute little compilation of things he had to say about the topic of love, enjoy.

The essential things in life are seen not with the eyes, but with the heart.

Truly, madly, deeply! The eyes see but the heart perceives. If we only relied upon our eyes when it comes to understanding ourselves and the important aspects of life, we would be in a strange place.

It’s the time you spent on your rose that makes your rose so important.

Spending time and caring for something, whatever it may be, over a long period of time is what makes that thing important. The rose in this quote can be a metaphor for love or any passion that you might have.

If you love a flower that lives on a star, it is sweet to look at the sky at night. All the stars are a-bloom with flowers…

Whatever you perspective, that creates or at least colours your reality. The beauty within and surrounding you is immense, only if you have the willingness to see.

You see, one loves the sunset when one is so sad.

Yep, needs no explanation 🙂

But the eyes are blind. One must look with the heart…

This is quite similar to the first quote, just a reminder.

Perfection is finally attained not when there is no longer anything to add, but when there is no longer anything to take away.

Deep, perfection in a sense becomes not about adding and getting more, more and more. Rather it is like the work of a sculptor, one chips away and removes until the final “perfect” form is revealed.

I am very fond of sunsets. Come, let us go look at a sunset…

Sunsets are beautiful, they stir something deep inside of us. Simple as that!

One should never listen to the flowers. One should simply look at them and breathe their fragrance.

The flowers song is in its visual and fragrant beauty. One should not look for what is not there, this only leads to suffering and discontent.

True love begins when nothing is looked for in return.

Yep, love is attained when its all about giving without the expectation of receiving.

Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction.

Our last quote on the list is also perhaps the most powerful one. It reveals a lot and is open to interpretation. In essence its not about merely having chemistry with someone, you must be compatible. This is when you look outward in the same direction. You understand each other.
